Monika Chauhan and Sapna Thakur from AIM for Seva Balika Vidyalaya in Khategaon, Madhya Pradesh scored 77.8% and 75.8% respectively in their 12th Board Examinations. Let’s know their stories:
A paltry income of Rs. 3500/- is all that Sapna’s father earns as a farmer in the village of Dhar in the western region of Madhya Pradesh. A family of seven sustains on that income. But instead of making the teenager engage in domestic chores, Sapna’s parents chose to admit her to Gayathri Devi AIM for Seva Chatralayam for Girls in Khategaon, Madhya Pradesh.
Monika hails from the village of Dhasoda in Madhya Pradesh, a tiny dot on the Indian map. Daughter of a farmer as well, Monika has been sincerely working on her academics since she joined the hostel last year in 2017.
Both of them have received Rs 25,000/- each as scholarship for laptops from Shri. Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Chief Minister – Madhya Pradesh, for scoring above 75% in their Board Examinations under the programme ‘Pratibhashali Vidyarthi Protsahan Samaroh’ held at Lal Parade Ground in Bhopal in the month of June.
