Here’s the true story of a boy from one of our Student Homes, who grabbed the opportunity given to him with both hands and sailed through in flying colours!

“Hello, my name is Vikram Kushwah. I am from Panigaon village in Madhya Pradesh. My parents are poor farm labourers. I am now staying at the Bapu Budh Chatralaya, Indore and I study at Prakhar Vidya Niketan School. A year back, I never used to go to school regularly because I had to walk a long distance. Instead, I would spend my day just playing around my house in the village.

But all that changed when I came to the Chatralaya. I got an opportunity to study and to play games like cricket, football and kho-kho, do yoga exercises and even learn subjects like science and maths. I have been working very hard at my studies and am proud to say that last year I stood first in my class.

The Chatralaya has given me a great opportunity to become somebody in life. When I grow up, I want to be an engineer. Just as I have been helped, I will save money and donate to help other children like me go to school."

Vikram stood first in Class VI among 80 students in his school.
