Numbers game

The maths department association (Math Empire) of the Swami Dayananda College of Arts & Science, Manjakkudi conducted an inter-department competition, SIGMA 2K19 from March 23rd to 25th.
 
On 23rd March, Math Expo was inaugurated by the college correspondent, Sri.M.G.Srinivasan and Sri. M.R. Rajagopal, manager, Wipro, Manjakkudi. The students from the department exhibited their model on applied mathematics. The preliminary rounds consisted of treasure hunt, pot pouri, block & tackle, sci-5 and open task.
 
On the final day of Sigma, maths department students from all three years made interesting power point presentations on ‘Mathematics in Yoga Pose’ and ‘Vedic Mathematics and Astronomy’. Dr.P.Senthil Kumar, assistant professor of mathematics, Rajah Serfoji Government College (Autonomous) was the Chief Guest on the concluding day of SIGMA 2K19. A mime show on ‘Misuse of Mobile’ was also presented on the occasion.

After this, motivational videos were played. The chief guest was the judge of the final rounds for sci-5, block & tackle, pot pouri and math expo. In his speech, the Chief Guest extolled our students on how they could improve and build on their knowledge base. The programme concluded with Dr.P.Senthil Kumar giving away prizes to the winners of various competitions.
