Montessori education in Manjakkudi

The Swami Dayananda Matric Higher Secondary School, Manjakkudi recently unveiled its Montessori programme.

The inauguration of the Montessori programme is yet another milestone in the journey of SDET (Swami Dayananda Educational Trust) in providing 360 degree education for students from rural India.

The Montessori programme was formally inaugurated by Sri. M G Srinivasan, correspondent, Swami Dayananda College of Arts & Science, Manjakkudi. Parents of the students were invited to light the lamp to mark the beginning of the event. On this auspicious occasion, flowers were offered to our founder, Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati with our school choir singing the prayer song.

The special guests at the Montessori inaugural were Sri. M.G. Dharmarajan, trustee SDET and Sri. M.R. Rajagopal, head of operations, Wipro, Manjakkudi.

In her message, the Chairperson and Managing Trustee of SDET, Smt. Sheela Balaji conveyed her greetings and hoped the new education programme would emulate the vision of Pujya Swamiji in transforming Manjakkudi by facilitating learning opportunities for students from rural India.

The imparting of Montessori education is another feather in the cap in making Manjakkudi an educational and knowledge hub. Smt. Sheela Balaji also extended her words of appreciation to Ms. Rukmani Ramachandran, founder, Navadisha Foundation in supporting the training of our staff and in facilitating the setting up of the Montessori environment, by deputing her staff, at Manjakkudi.

The Chairperson and Managing Trustee of SDET congratulated the team for a successful start and blessed the students for a very bright future.

The school principal, Smt. Padma Raghunathan, introduced the Montessori teachers and extended her gratitude for the efforts taken by the school management in introducing this innovative pedagogy at Manjakkudi for the benefit of our students.

The names of the four Montessori environments are Medha, Purna, Pragna and Ananda. In his speech, Sri. MG Srinivasan, the correspondent of the college appreciated the efforts of Smt. Sheela Balaji in facilitating state of the art education at Manjakkudi and also blessed the students. The inaugural function ended with another prayer song by the choir students.
