Rural Women trained as Master Tailors , Uttarkhand

In the three tailoring centres run by AIM for Seva in  Uttrakhand, at Bapugram, Shyampur Khadri, Haripur Kalan, 40 women got their diploma in tailoring in October 2010, thus becoming trained  master tailors.

The 3 centres are being sponsored by the Holland based organisation “ Foundation Of Philosophy And Meditation, since 2002.   On an average 20 students appear for the exam held in September every year. The course duration is one year commencing from the month of October.

Sponsors from Holland visited the 3 centres on 10th Oct., 2010.  Variety of dresses, hand bags, crocheted sweaters, embroidered articles and show pieces made with scrap material and many more interesting were on display.  These projects are  a striking example of the successful working “rural women and empowerment” concept.
