The investiture ceremony of the Swami Dayananda Matric Higher Secondary School, Manjakkudi, Tamil Nadu was held on 26 July in the GR Auditorium.
The function was conducted in a grand and ceremonial manner. At the start of the ceremony, students from class 3 and above assembled house wise. The function was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Smt. Sheela Balaji, secretary of Swami Dayananda Educational Trust (SDET) in the presence of Sri. M.G.Srinivasan, correspondent of the Swami Dayananda College of Arts & Science, Manjakkudi and Smt. Padma Raghunadhan, principal, Swami Dayananda Matric Higher Secondary School, Manjakkudi, Tamil Nadu. The relieving council members discharged their duties by handing over the sash and flags to the JRC volunteers.
The Chief Guest carried out the honors of conferring responsibilities to the newly elected school council members (2019-2020). They took the oath to strive hard and keep the ethics and values of the institution and to motivate the fellow students to participate in all activities with the true spirit of competition.
The newly elected head girl, Ms.Pooja Lakshmi addressed the gathering on behalf of the council members and promised to work hard to achieve the vision of the founder of SDET, Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati. The Chief Guest Smt. Sheela Balaji spoke on the vision of Swamiji, the role of a Guru/ teacher in one’s life, importance of learning and team work and success. Smt. Balaji also explained the rationale behind naming the school houses as Alaknanda, Cauvery, Narmada, Saraswathi to the newly elected council members and the students.
The programme ended with the vote of thanks and playing of the National Anthem.
