Healthcare Centres
One of AIM for Seva’s endeavours has been to transform its Student Homes into hubs that provide other essential services as well. This resulted in Healthcare Centers being opened in and around several Student Homes.
The decision to run Healthcare Centers over hospitals was taken based on several considerations. Firstly, it is financially much more expensive to build hospitals. Moreover, in many of these remote areas, there is a lack of willingness of doctors to serve, and a lack of infrastructure to run the hospitals. Healthcare Centers help address these issues effectively because their requirement for financial aid and physical infrastructure is lesser when compared to hospitals.
AIM for Seva currently runs eight Health Care Centers across four states in India. These Centers cater to thousands of patients from rural and tribal areas.
