‘Antar-Yatra – The Journey Within’, choreographed and directed by Smt. Sharmila Biswas– a Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee and founder of the Odissi Vision & Movement Centre, Kolkata – was staged across seven cities in India from July 16th to August 3rd, 2016.
This magical programme featuring nine dancers showcased a wide range of talent – three classical Indian dance forms, songs sung in six different languages, and included the art of shadow puppetry and ‘kollattam’- a rural game from Tamilnadu. Various Gurus from the Kuchipudi, Bharatanatyam and Odishi temple dance forms were the composers.
This dance-drama traversed the inner conflicts of a creative artiste’s mind, the thoughts, emotions, and paradoxes that are encountered during introspection and reflection.
The team and audiences of Antar-Yatra helped support the dreams of over thousands of children studying and staying at AIM for Seva hostels.
