AIM for Seva’s mission is educating rural India and we have adopted a holistic model to empower children from poor and vulnerable backgrounds. Our value-education model adopts a 360 approach to education that includes after school academic support, exposure to extracurricular activities like yoga, music and sports and student participation in community development initiatives.
In this section, we present to you a sneek peek of our valued-education world.
A NSS (national social service) camp was successfully completed at the Swami Dayananda College of Arts & Science, Manjakkudi,Tamil Nadu recently. The camp was held from March 22 to 29. As part of camp activities, our students planted saplings in the surrounding villages– Pudukkudi, Engan and Kannara Pudukkudi.
Yoga demonstrations, motivational lectures, talks on benefits of Ayurveda and critical issues pertaining to nutrition and malnutrition were also deliberated upon as part of the camp activities. The students also resorted to cleaning temples at Manjakkudi, Narsingampettai and Pudukkudi.
The country is gripped in election fever and our students weren’t far behind. They engaged in voter rally awareness. At the end of the 8 day camp, awards were distributed to 50 final year students during the valedictory function.
The Swami Dayananda College of Arts & Science, Manjakkudi, Tamil Nadu conducted Sports Day 2019 on March 26. The college boys and girls from the four houses– green, yellow, red and blue exhibited their skills in various indoor and outdoor games like badminton, ball badminton, volleyball, throwball, netball and yoga.
The yellow house emerged and prizes were distributed to the winners and other deserving sports persons.
