Swami Dayananda Saraswati is a great visionary, an eminent teacher of Vedanta and a powerful thinker and writer of our times. He is at home with most classical of scholars as well as contemporary youth. As a teacher of Vedanta, he has established 4 teaching centres and many more across the globe through his students. He is acutely sensitive to the needs of Indian society, having grown up in a small village in the Kaveri delta. This has made him appreciate and empathize with problems faced in rural areas such as lack of education, health care, job opportunities etc. Being the person who relentlessly looks for ways to contribute, it has led him to initiate a movement called AIM for Seva.

Swami Dayananda Saraswati has initiated and participated in International forums such as:
  • The United Nations - The Millennium World Peace Summit, in New York, September 2000
  • The World Council for Preservation of Religious Diversity, in Bangkok, June 2002
  • The Global Peace Initiative of Women Religious and Spiritual Leaders, in Geneva, October 2002
  • The Hindu Jewish Leadership Summit, in New Delhi, February 2007
